Wireless RF Solution Pilot for National Retailer
The Objective
When a national supermarket chain decided to pilot a replacement for its Radio Frequency (RF) Wireless Solution across all its stores, it called on ASH to design and install a new state-of-the-art system.
The Solution
After ascertaining the client's technical and business requirements for the new RF system, ASH designed, project managed and implemented the new solution at selected pilot sites. The solution presented several technical challenges which ASH met utilising various internal support teams and technical specialists. We enabled the customer to adopt a 'hands-off' approach to the installations, allowing him to support his internal network through the change. Liaising with the customer's internal network was key to the success of this project and with ASH adopting a role within the internal team; success was assured at an early stage. We provided a fully tested back-out procedure through our product based planning approach and applied quality review techniques to ensure procedures were robust and best fit for purpose.
The Result
The new RF solution was successfully integrated to the current IT infrastructure. Rigorous installation standards were produced to support the customer in new build environments. In addition, we completed UAT and stress testing to produce asset renewal processes and implementation guides tailored to the customer's existing networks to support the business case for estate-wide asset renewal with a capital value of £4.5m.
